Im 17 and 5'8" 145lbs and i used to race motocross when i was 13 and want to get back into it what do i need?

What bike should i get? and how can i get sponsors back?

  1. As you are just getting back into the sport perhaps starting out on a good 250cc maybe the crf250r would be a good point to begin and then once you get the hang of it you could get a larger bike as well and ride the open class.  5'8 would be a good height for the 250cc and you are an alright weight as well.

    Just concentrate on getting back involved in the racing and getting your fitness back and your ability up to speed and then the other things should follow.  You really need results to show sponsors so that they see they will be getting a good deal.  When you have a few results you can then put together a resume and send it to local motorbike dealers and other local shops.  Just don't be too fussy with your first sponsors as any help is better than none.  Lots of shops will give discounts to those who belong to the local mx clubs anyway so it is worth asking if there is a discount available.


  2. 250F definitely. The 2 stroke days are gone for anyone serious about their racing, unless you are in the mini class that is.
