If you're a healthy girl of childbearing age (from puberty to menopause) then you should be producing enough estrogen on your own, and don't need to be taking any extra.  Women who have gone through menopause or had a hysterectomy often take estrogen pills, although now they've been linked to an increased occurrence of breast cancer, and many women choose not to take them at all.  Sometimes younger women may not produce enough estrogen due to a hormonal imbalance, but typically other medicines (such as birth control pills) are used to treat that.
