  1. since you are looking for fun and one would guess to be a better rider... no not at all... finding a local track is the hard part....there are plenty of schools where you can get a good foundation i would suggest that you try to get into one...

  2. I'm 52.  I just got my first bike and my license last September.  I can see myself having at least a few track days and dragging a knee.

I started racing bicycles five years ago, by the way.

    Go for it.  Have fun.

  3. no it is never to late never give up on your dreams kid. and yeah thee are leagues like that but it is hard to find look on yelowpages for race stores and talk to them about it.

  4. Not too young at all. Although you hear about many riders starting extremely early there are loads that start late in life. Want some examples? Off the top of my head, double World Superbike Champion (and MotoGP race winner) Troy Bayliss was around 26 when he started racing. Britain's Chris Walker, four time British Superbike runner up and World Superbike race winner was into his twenties when he started.

Club racing is normally the usual starting place.

  5. absolutly not it is actually early because you can race for however long you want. I would start now and never quit. If you really love the sport you will start now and continue. Remember good better best never let it rest until your good is your better and your better is your best.

  6. Your never to old to start, but the only PRO road racer who ever made it good starting as late as you Max Biaggi.

You will have to THAT good to get noticed.

I like the face that, that you think racing a 600 Sports bike would be easy. Far from it mate. Have you ever watched the WSS championship ?

Good luck mate. All the best.

[ For this question, Ill reserve on the " normal " text book reply !!! ]

  7. No, its not too late. So, GO FOR IT!!!

  8. It is not too late to race and get pleasure  and enjoyment from it as a sport, but too late to go pro, but as you say you are not looking to do that.

I am sure a couple of the regulars on here who know there stuff will answer this with what racing is available to people who are just starting and they will be able to tell you what things you need to do.

    Enjoy

  9. 17 My advise is that your deffo not to young and get out there and race
