any tips on how to get the kids to like me but also for them not to take advantage of me.. things i should do ?

  1. Show them who the boss is, and don't let them slack off too much. The reason is because then they'll start being lazy the whole season which isn't good. So the first practice you should test their skill, then you can start making them work hard with controlling their dribble, throw-ins, shooting, and teamwork. The most important thing is teamwork, you should make sure the team doesn't fight. Sometimes make some games like World Cup or Marbles. Hope it helps! If you need more help just e-mail me.  


  2. show them who's boss but don't be mean either. if they don't listen, make them run a lap so they see that you're being serious. or tell them if they have a bad day of practice, they'll have to run after and they'll listen to you, trust me. my high school coach did that to us and he didn't hear any complains from us. we bitched after, but never around him.

  3. just be yourself and don't be too friendly

    you never want them to think that they can treat you like a friend because they won't take you seriously and don't waste any time and put all your effort into making them better
