  1. In Florida, you MUST get your permit before you may have your driver's license. You may get your driver's license after 12 months of having the permit, but all of this somewhat depends on where you live...but this is usually the norm. However, I had a cousin of mine in Illinois obtain her license after completing a certain amount of hours driving (night/day) and had a form signed by her guardian. You can call your local DMV department if you want information that will pertain to you.

    Good luck!

  2. 18 (at least in wisconsin)

But TBH i would do driving school, itll help with your insurance rates etc.  Im 22 and waited till i was 18, no citations etc, my friend same age, with a v8 instead of 6 (both full coverage) and his insurance is 80 dollars less a month then mine, for some stupid reason having to do with that.

  3. I most states, you MUST get a permit, have it for the predetermined amount of time and get all your drive time in along with classroom if you are under 18. After you turn 18, you just need classroom and go take the test. Most of the specific numbers and time spans differ from state to state. For example, Illinois requires 100hrs of drive time 6hrs of class drive and a permit for min 3 months (I think, they just change alot of that stuff beginning of this year).

  4. You have to get your permit before your license at any age.  You aren't allowed to take the driving test without practicing, and you need a permit to practice.

In most states, once you're 18 there is no mandatory waiting period.
