I am 18, and basically i want to change my life and go in a new direction.

God, No drugs, college, train and work out for football is what my goals are. I also want to start boxing!! Im 18 5'9" 178 lbs. Bench 275 even though i know bench has nothing to do with boxing. I dont want to be a professional, but i want to be passionate about it for at least a couple of years. Pretty in shape but ive been goin to the gym and pumpin iron for bulk, and have not been running, however i am still in shape. 6 pack.

Where can i start? If i even can at this age??

  1. dude ur ripped.

    ull be good for boxing

  2. Ok looks really dont have anything to do with boxing but your fit. Im only 16 but im much more muscler than you. Keep in mind bigger muscles need more oxygen, so you would tire quickly. Like i do. I work out so that i can have a good physique. It doesnt help my boxing except for a strength increase. It takes time to get used to the mass and adapting so that you dont tire easily.

Its not even close to late to start. Find a suitble boxing gym close to home and start as soon as your ready to go. You will find that most people quit after a few lessons and all, as it is much more intense then they expected. But if you hearts in it, you can do anything. Im killing myself so that i can turn pro in 3 years time. I wish you all the luck my friend. Never give up!!

  3. yeah you good, but boxing is not only how ripped you are or if you look bigger than opponent. it is also about quickness and and how you think.

  4. looks have nothing to do with boxing but a good place to start would be golds gym

  5. I dont know, your body seems ready for it, to take hits, but I dont know just because you're toned it doesnt promise you a good boxing career

  6. Yeah u look good. But boxing and a great looking body have nothing in common. Sad but true! If u wanna start, get out a run!!! Light at first then build it up. A boxer in great shape should be able to run 3-4 miles in 25-35 mins. Besides that start jumpping rope. Helps with stamina, builds the legs, and arms up and is also great for balance. I boxed in the summer in high school then 3 more years in the army.

  7. Wow I can tell you have been hitting the weights. If you are boxing just for fun and not get into any touranments or anything like that then go for it. I think you will be all right. Make sure you get proper equipment: boxing gloves (recommend 16 to 18 ounce for sparring but for hand speed and power go for 12 ounces), mouthguards, headgear (if you wish to use that), handwraps, punching bag, speed bag and bag gloves.

  8. you looked fit enough to me,
