  1. It's easier to identify a car that's easy to insure and buy it, than a buy a car you like and try to get insurance. Some car makes are still quite cheap for young drivers.

  2. Hiya!

I too am 18 Years old, and I am a named driver on my partner's insurance policy. I personally haven't made a claim, but my partner has, and after looking at all the different insurance policies, I found that SwiftCover were the cheapest by far! I have just upgraded from my Corsa 1.2 16V to a 1.6 Honda Civic V-Tec. I was insured as a named driver for just under £400, and since buying the Honda, my insurance has only gone up £30 for the year!!! Hope this information is helpful!

    xx

  3. My boyfriend is 19 with no no claims and a 1.6 16 v hyundai....his insurance was about £900 with admiral....and that is him as the policy holder and his mum as a named driver.

To lower the price add your parents as named drivers for some reason that lowers the price!

  4. co compare.com gave my wife the cheepest quote, and me and ive got 6 points!

  5. Try these comparsion sites:

    http://www.moneysupermarket.com

    http://www.confused.com

    http://www.gocompare.com

    http://www.tescocompare.com

  6. What do you expect? New drivers have loads of scrapes, it costs the insurers lots of money paying out on claims. Get yourself an old banger like everyone else, and build up your no-claims,

  7. As a driver aged under 25 years old, you are classed by the insurer as being in a high risk category, based on the volume of claims that the age group make in comparison to other drivers. In addition, because of your age, you will have very little driving experience behind you and have made a claim, so unfortunately, cheap insurance is going to be extremely difficult for you to find.

The best thing for you to do would be to approach one of the price comparison web sites, or if you don't want to insure online, approach an insurance broker. Both the comparison site and the broker will check lots of different insurers for you, which will both save you time, and will find the best deal for you.

I know it is hard to find reasonably priced insurance, but trust me, as you start to build up no claim discount and get some driving experience, it will start to bring the price down.

    Good luck.

  8. At your age and with a claim already made your looking at spending alot on insurance.

  9. try these insurance company's who specialise in young drivers:

    http://www.hootcarinsurance.co.uk/

    http://www.17to40.co.uk/

    http://www.4youngdrivers.co.uk/

It not just your age that affects the insurance premium they take in account your area where you live, security fitted on vehicle, if the car was garaged over night the premium would be a little lower.

Your job also effect your premium say if you were a supermarket shelf stacker your premium would be higher because of the high risk of damage occurring at the works car park.

  10. This is a step by step guide to get the cheapest possible, by using the comparison sites mentioned above and it has a list of the companies not covered by the comparison sites as well.

Personaly I have found Bell and Elephant to be the cheapest but it seems that the best value is different for everyone.

  11. You could try confused.com. What they do is compare quotes from lots of different companies.

  12. You are going to find it difficult. Your best bet would be going to a broker.

  13. Every one you try is going to be very very expensive,so make sure it is a good reliable one that will pay out with no trouble, such as DIRECT LINE or THE PRUDENTIAL.

  14. If you own a corsica my suggestion is to run, not walk, & buy a new car!

  15. try confused.com or moneysupermarket.com. :-)

  16. I doubt if you will find any decent quotes.  If you were in charge of an insurance company would you take the risk of insuring cheaply some dumb-a.ss teenager who has had an accident already?  I know I wouldn't.
