Im 19 , can i rent a car?

i need a car for a day. i have a debit, but my credit card is max!! ..... how much would it be? thanks in advace! :D

Most rental car places require you to be at least 25.

When I last checked, Enterprise would rent to a licensed 19-year-old, but charged extra.

Also, not everywhere will accept a debit card; for rental cards, you usually need a credit card that is far from its max.  If you do try to use a debit card, make sure there is a large balance.  They usually put a hold on your card of more than the cost of the rental (in case you do not return the car on time), so have just enough to cover the cost of the rental will not be enough.

nope you need to be 25 and most places put a 2-3k hold on your credit card  during the rental and will not release it for about 7-10days after return.

it depends on your state. some states require you to be 21 and some require you to be 25.

I would call the rental company and see what they say the law in your particular state is.

for example.

and your debit card works as long as it has a visa or mastercard logo

when i was in florida i was able to rent a car when i was 21

when i was in california i had to be 25

You will have a hard time renting a car, but there are other options you may not have considered.

While car rental places require you to be 25 (sometimes 21), a moving truck rental place (such as U-Haul) only requires you to be 18.  Therefore, you could rent a pickup truck or a cargo van for a day and only be out the $19.95 plus mileage (usually $0.25 to $0.49 per mile).  As long as you are not driving very far it will end up being cheaper than some car rentals.  A long trip will get expensive, though.

In any case, because of your age it may be the only way for you to get a vehicle.

I doubt it, first of all your only 19 and the rent a car age is 25! and you can pay with a debit card when you return the car, but you need a credit card to rent it.
