  1. its nerver too late to try any new sport! enjoy playing tennis!!! :)

  2. Tennis is a game that takes a lot of practice to master. 22 is not too late to learn at all, but it is too late to go pro or play college tennis. Tennis is an amazing game, and is a lot of fun. On the other hand it takes a lot of discipline, commitment, and hard work. To me that is part of the fun. Definitely do the clinics on Wednesday.

  3. Its not too late.  Just be willing to really dedicate yourself to it as much as possible.  Try to do exactly what the pro says, watch tennis on tv, take in as much as you can and try not to be lazy and have fun.  The thing about learning new things when we're older isn't really that we can't do it, its just that we get too distracted by other less important things than what we really want to do.  There's people playing at 90, and it totally focuses you, works on your hand eye coordination, and opens up your mind.  So, DO IT!

  4. Give it a try.  The worst thing you can discover is that you're no good at it.  Tennis requires more than athleticism.  You have to have a rthym for it as well.

  5. Never too late to learn/play. Many people as they mature start playing, mainly for excercise purposes and what not. I was 27 when I first started, only to regret not getting off my booty earlier instead of just watching it, and playing sooner. With USTA, Ultimate Tennis and other organizations, you can find other players and leagues, and tournaments to play on with players matched with your skill level/rating. I would definitely do it if I were you. If it were up to me, I woudl stay on a court all day, every day, I just love it and can last.

  6. I started at 28.  And I have been playing 4-6 times a week since then (3 years).  Its been great.  Another great way to learn, is to take a community college class (I've taken 2 of them now).  I have also taken a handful of private lessons.  Another good way to practice as a beginner, is against a wall.  As a beginner, you want both quality and quantity in your practice.  A wall gives you a large quantity of balls to hit.  The clinics and lessons will give you quality practice.  Starting something new is always a challenge.  It puts you out of your comfort zone.  And it can be frustrating at times.  But if you stick with it, I'm sure you'll come to love it; you might even get addicted to it  - like me!  I am a certifiable tennis nut.  I string my own racquets.  I own 6 racquets, in my 12-racquet bag, and I have 4 pairs of tennis shoes.  Good luck in your tennis adventures!

  7. Its the best Sport ever!!(in my opinion) its never too late to start a fun new hobby that is good for your mind and body!!! go for it!

  8. I agree, it's never too late to start a new hobby! and if you know that you'll follow through with it, then just go for it! because it will be fun and exciting. =]
