  1. Take a bowl with somewhat high sides.  Fill it partially with water and add Dawn liquid.  Place it under a bright light during the night.  Believe it or not, the fleas will jump right in the water and not be able to get out.  If you keep doing this each night, eventually you will have no more fleas.  My aunt tried it out and it worked for her.  She didn't want to use any chemicals because of her grandson who crawls on the floor.

Seriously it really does work.  The first night my aunt tried it, the bowl was completely full of fleas.  Plus you don't have to worry about the house being full of chemicals when you bring your new baby home.

  2. Buy some Diatomaceous Earth (commonly called DE) from your local health food store or even on-line. Be sure it's food grade. Apparently, not through experience but asking about this is a very good solution to your problem.  The best part about this product is that it is child and pet friendly.  Good luck! If you look up this product online it will give you more information.

  3. treat the dogs, put them outside, call a "green" exterminator & ask for nontoxic sprays. have them spray inside & out.

we had fleas when my LO was just a few weeks old, and NOTHIGN worked!! we treid ALL the "home remedies" & they just made messes!! (like Borax! UGH)

we called a local exterminator (the bug man) and he used an alcohol based aerosol spray to kill them inside (nontoxic) and a stronger one outside, for only $100. worked like a charm!! can't believe we tried all the other c**p!

  4. stay in either a hospital or...... a hotel until baby is due then while you stay somewhere else you can exterminate the house!

  5. Did you actually take the dogs in for a flea dip? That is the best way to get them off the dogs. As far as carpets I used to sprinkle the carpets with the flea powder and let it sit for about 10 minutes then vacuum. You might want to have someone else vacuum though so the dust doesn't bother you. If you don't want to use the chemicals in the flea dip on your dog and you live near salt water let them swim. Salt water is the BEST natural way to get rid of fleas. My grandpa used to do this with his hunting dogs.

  6. You can buy flea bombs that kill the fleas in the house, but you and your family will need to clean the house so that all areas of carpet or floor are exposed, leave the home, don't even leave the dogs there, and set them off and come home 8 hours later. Also you can buy stuff from the vet to mix with water to dip your pets in. This is what we use and it works wonders. Also you may want to consider spraying the base of the house all the way around outside, It's quite expensive getting rid of these pests. And I feel your pain. We just went through the same thing, well except im not pregnant. Good Luck

  7. Fleas are MISERABLE!If you haven't flea bombed the house....like with one can per room. You need to now.Be sure nothing is on the floor and shake out any clothes that are.  You'll need to go else where for about 4-6 hours while the fumes are at work.

Bomb the house again in 3 or 4 days to get the eggs that are just hatching too...which is probably why the cleaning didn't work.  bomb again after that if you want to be sure sure they're all dead. then vacuum and clean the floors and wash the bedding and if you have pets, have them dipped or don't let them in the house til you know they don't have fleas. Good luck!

EDIT: to whoever thumbed me down...i know for a fact this works because I have 1 dog and 2 cats...and no fleas in the house! so there!

  8. call orkin, or terminix. I use orkin and it took 1 visit to get rid of everything that I had a problem with. They are really good and you need to get rid of the fleas before bringing an infant home. Babies dont have the immunities we do and fleas can carry diseases. Bad diseases. Call asap. Keep the dogs covered with flea preventative and give them baths often with flea dip. Vaccuum as often as you can. Wash all bedding and spray all things that you cant fit into a washer with a lice spray or a fleas spray (if they have something that wouldnt smell like a harsh chemical.) You can try to use those flea bombs that you set off in your house, but I would tell someone else to set them off because you dont need to be around it and you will need to leave for at least 5 hours. I would really recommend orkin because they guarantee their work. They will come back as much as it takes, and those flea bombs dont always work.

  9. i would recomend going to a store and buying a product that you can spray all over your house to get rid of them! i have seen many of these around but just make sure it will not harm the baby!

  10. In my opinion are the dog's more important than the baby? If not get rid of the dog's. Because if they are biting you imagine what they will do to the baby. I don't care what anybody says fleas are 1 of the hardest thing to get rid of, and if you do find something that apparently gets rid of fleas, they won't be gone for long, because it takes 1 flea to miss and you have more in your house in no time. Think of what is best for your baby, because the dog's will just keep bringing more fleas in no matter how clean you think they are. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear but it's the truth.

  11. Fugger everyroom in your house pour baking soda on the carpet. It takes 72 hours to kill the flees when it doesn't do it Fumigation.

  12. The bowl of water and Dawn works, but make sure you add the Dawn after you pour the water. You don't want suds or it won't work.

Have you tried garlic? For some reason, fleas HATE the way garlic is metabolized in the blood and won't touch a pet (or you) who's eaten lots of garlic. You don't need to down a head a day, but adding it to your dinner certainly can help. Feed some to the dogs too... they'll usually gobble it up by cloves.

You don't need pesticides to get rid of fleas. Just have hubby bathe the dogs with regular shampoo (no need for chemicals), lather them up really well (it suffocates the fleas), and be sure to pick off as many as he can find (if you can get him to do it, lol!). Vacuum regularly too. Every few days or so. And dispose of the bags asap by putting them in plastic bags, tying them off, and setting them outside away from your doors and windows. If you don't have bags, take the vacuum outside to empty it so they don't end up back in the carpet.

I'd avoid pesticides because they can harm you, your baby, and your dogs (especially if it's repeated) and there are better ways of getting rid of pests that don't have to put your health in danger.

  13. Bomb the house, vacum the house, and then get your dogs dipped. You should get the dogs dipped by a proffesional and then while that is happening vacum your house. Also if there is any outside there is a spray you can get for outside.

  14. Fleas are extremely hard to get rid of try terminix they will return anytime you ask no extra charge.

    good luck .
