  1. Most babies who start labor posterior turn anterior for birth.  But even if he doesn't, you can perfectly well birth a posterior baby.

Labor without medication just might be a bit more uncomfortable, so if you're going that route, try counter-pressure, massage, and water therapy, like a tub.

  2. You should have been advised to use a ball to sit on, on go on all fours as though you're cleaning a floor. This dangles the baby and encourages him to turn round.

Back to back can mean a longer labour (and ultimately C section) as the baby's head is so comfortable where it is that the baby is reluctant to come out!

It's not the end of the world though - it's better than baby being breech!

  3. I went 2 days overdue with my first baby and when i got to the hospital they told me she was back to back, very painful! But she must have turned quite quickly as i had her a few hours later (labour was 6 hrs start to finish)

i agree with the others that suggest being on all fours etc so gravity can help pull them round the right position

  4. I was told to go on all fours with my head lower than my bum for about half hour as often as possible.  Didn't work, had a lot more back pain, no pain relief, had home delivery, baby arrived before midwife.  Hope all goes well.

  5. it is possible but its also unlikely it all depends on the size of you and the baby and how much room it has to turn
