Im 40 weeks pregant today and ive just woken up to find?

Question

that i carnt contol my wee i thought my waters was breaking it just come running down before i even thought about needing the toilet

iv just changed my knickers 3 times in 5 mins why canrt i control my wee today? theres loads normally when i go to the toilet theres nothin there when your waters do break do you feel pain straight away?? or how long after?

Your waters have broken.... you wont necessarily feel pain straight away. Ring your midwife and let her know, get your fella home from wrk or whoever is acompanying you to the hospital. Keep yourself busy for as long as you can and stay on your feet to speed it along a bit. Maybe do some housework or something. Then when the pain starts to get a bit worse take a bath. When the pain gets unbareable ring the labour suite and let them know your coming in. The chances are tho, that your midwife will tell you to come staight into the hosp if they have broken. It sounds very much like your waters have broken but are seeping slowly. When my waters broke there was no great gush followed by pain as I was expecting, rather there was a slow trickle for several hours. You can't have that much wee in your bladder. Good luck - looks like you're on your way.

it sounds like your waters are leaking - are you sure it's urine? Does it smell? Is it coloured?

Pain doesn't come with the waters breaking - but if you don't go into labour within 24 hours there is a high risk of infection. Call your local maternity ward and inform them - they will probably ask you to come in to check you out.

It sounds like your water may have broken. Just because your water breaks does not mean you will feel pain/contractions immediately. I did not feel any significant pain until 2 hours after my water had broken.

Call the hospital and tell them the situation. They may have you come in and they can do a test to see if it is your water or not.

start doing your pelvic-floor muscle exercises so that this won't happen again in the future - your muscles have started relaxing and you need to keep them tight!

MY FULL TERM WAS SUNDAY AUGUST 24TH AND I HAVENT FELT ANYTHING YET. THE ONLY THING WRONG RIGHT NOW WHICH ISNT ANYTHING THAT ISNT NORMAL IS I WAKE UP ALOT TO GO POTTY AND I END UP STAYING UP FOR 1 OR 2 HOURS WATCHING TV. MY WATER HASNT BROKE AND I'VE HAD CONTRACTIONS BUT THEY ARENT CLOSE ENOUGH. SO I'M HOPING TO HAVE THE BABY SOMETIME SOON!

I THINK CONTRACTIONS SHOULD START A LITTLE AFTER YOUR WATER BREAKS. I'M NOT TO SURE ABOUT IT SINCE THIS IS ALSO MY FIRST PREGNANCY. YOU ALSO MIGHT WANT TO CALL THE HOSPITAL AND SPEAK TO A NURSE AND GET HER ADVISE ON WHAT TO DO NEXT.

it doesnt sound like you are weeing your waters have broken, you dont have to feel pain stright away it cant be up to 24hrs. im sure contractions will start in the next few hours but as your now open to infection i would go stright to the hospital. congratulations and good luck!!!!

Ring a hospital and ask what should i do if your really panicing, Dont panic.

You dont always feel pain straight away, it sounds to me as if you are in early labour with your bladder relaxing, your looking for small cramping movements of your bump, not necerserrilly any pain but if there is some it may start mild and get worse or it may just go for it, the best thing to do is chill out and relax so that your energy is reserved for later if you are indeed in labour, lay on the sofa and watch some daytime tv!!! When your waters break it rarely gushes out. It usually trickles as though you are "weeing". I think you should call your doctor or midwife and let them know what is going on. You may go into labor soon.

If you suspect you have broken your waters, pop a pad on (do not use tampons) and call your midwife or labour ward who will ask a few questions to help distinguish what has happened. Having no control over the flow

It does sound as though your waters have broken.   They don't always go with a gush, sometimes they do just steadily flow out.  I would imagine that you will start to feel some sort of crampy pains very soon.  If in doubt, give your maternity unit a call and ask for their advice.
