  1. Get a pair, if you are an intermediate that reach your nose, and are a  medium-firm flex pattern.  Too stiff a ski is no fun for a beginner or intermediate skier to use, if it's too soft, it will not properly respond to your movements.  This should be a 150-160 cm ski, in an all mountain style.  Each brand will measure their equipment differently and mark the according to their design.  Keep your edges sharp and the bases waxed so they can be easily controlled.  Hope this helps, enjoy the sport.

  2. rossignol x-9 or x-3. for powder like a scratch brigade

  3. It depends on the kind of downhill your doing.

If you're only on piste then ski length 150-160cm depending on if how good you are. Beginner: 150, Intermediate: 155, Advanced: 160.

For a powder junkie then go for 155-180 depending on how much powder you ride and how good you are, again on about the same sliding scale.

If you're a free rider; some piste, some big mountain, some big drops, etc then you'll want about 155-170 depending on your ability level.

All the measurements are in cm.

    Hope this helps.

  4. It really depends on the type of skiing your going to do. If your beg most likely 150-155. shorter the ski the easier because they are easier to turn on.

  5. Downhill skis are always over the skiers head, they are long as you can get maximum speed from that (as you have a bigger surface area to spread the weight over). So been 165cm then i would take 175 cm skis as amaximum but these are impractical and will hassle you when having to carry them.

Also they are harder to control.

Unless you are a proffesional skier then i would not get skis over 165cm. As for the flex in them, if you have to much flex then when going fast they jump around up and down and it turns into a terrifying experience so i would take  medium flex.

    Hope it helps.
