I want to get in my bathroom tomorrow and do a really deep cleaning in there. We have been getting ants in the bathroom, and I just want to spray (my husband will spray) and then when its all dried, I want to get in there and give a good cleaning.

Normally Id just take bleach or clorox to the whole bathroom, and comet to the shower.. But I'm almost 7 months pregnant, and I dont want to take any chances on inhailing the bleach.

What can I use that will work as good as bleach, but wont pose a risk if I smell it?

  1. any citrus based cleaner, i never use bleach its to dangerous and bad for the environment.

  2. Believe it or not....vinegar!White vinegar is a great cleanser and disenfectant.Bleach will not stop the ants anyway.Good luck...

  3. Magic Eraser work good no stronge smell

  4. You can do just about anything with recipes of vinegar, lemon juice and borax.  Ask anyone over 60 or 70

  5. I have recently found Enjo cleaning cloths. They are cloths designed to clean with a little water. You use different ones for different surfaces and they are fantastic. No need to using any cleaning agent ever again!! check site below.

If you want to add a nice fragrance to the room you can add some essential oils to the water (or cloth) and just wipe. Essential oils are available at most health shops and some chemists - The Body Shop also stocks them.

  6. Well, God bless you, your child thanks you!

Clean with baking soda and vinegar in water.  Then have your husband spray (?)  Then clean with detergent in water, and rinse.

Why use bugspray?  Do you think that is okay for your baby?

Absolute cleanliness is your best defense against ants.  If it's the bathroom they are after, most likely it is water they are seeking.  Repair any and all leaks, and leave no standing water in that room.  (Except, of course, the toilet bowl, and keep the lid down.)

There are also various things ants are supposed to dislike, like red pepper or vinegar.  Depends on the ants.  But absolutely clean and disinfect (vinegar and baking soda are very good).

If you are absolutely, positively determined, why not hire someone else to do the bleaching while you observe from beyond breathing distance?  Also, anytime you use bleach, follow it up with vinegar in water to end the bleaching action.
