  1. Fake inside roll out, learn the swim move.  You will be in better shape than any Tackle and should be better than any TE by the 4th quarter when they are sucking air you need to be just getting started.

  2. First of all, unlike everyone else says, it's not all about rushing the QB. You have to be able to read the blockers on run plays so you can use your speed advantage against the not so agile o-linemen.

  3. U got speed use it to your advantage. u can rack up sacks. its not about the size its the matter of heart.

    Look up elvis dumervil

  4. 165 is pretty light for a DE in varsity.  Your key for winning the line, as a lighter DE, is not to let the Tackle get their hands planted on your chest.  You will not be able to brawn your way out of a firm block.  Learn the rip, the swim, and the spin the best you can to keep yourself free.  You should be fine for pass rush plays with your speed.

I think the biggest issue will be defending run plays.  A pulling guard could level you.  My only thought is to get real low in your 3 point stance.

    Best of luck

  5. you better have speed and technique

  6. so what's wrong with playing DE. He put you there for a reason so do the best you can. If your doing your job you shouldn't have to worry about the O-line. Your job is outside containment on running plays. That means you go around the tackle(speed) and turn the RB back to the middle of the field.  On pass plays you just blow right past them. If you keep a positive attitude and actually pay attention to what your coach teaches you, you'll be fine. He didn't put you there to fail, he put you there cause he thinks you can do the job.  How well you do the job is up to you and the attitude you have. Don't question your coach at whether it's a smart move, take the job he believes you can do and run with it. He has confidence in you..... why don't you?
