I’m A Gangster favourite for Racing Excellence "Hands And Heels" Novices´ Handicap Hurdle
A close contest is expected in the Racing Excellence "Hands And Heels" Novices´ Handicap Hurdle (Conditional Jockeys/Amateur Riders) at Bangor-on-dee in England on Thursday, October 4, 2012. None of the runners seem to have any major advantage over the other,
which will make the competition interesting in the class-5 event.
The going has been described as good in the 2 mile 1 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 14:20 GMT. Speed at the start will not matter much and the one who saves some energy for the end will definitely be in contention of a victory.
Although, the spectators will enjoy the competition, it will be a difficult situation altogether for the punters, as they will be risking their money in the end. They do not have any clear favourite, thus they will have to look at the records very closely.
They will be hoping for some rain, as a change in conditions will give them a few good options.
However, the bookies believe that the best chance of victory in these conditions are with I’m A Gangster, who has been given a general starting price of 10 to 3. He has never managed to win any race and will need to produce a special effort in order to finish
ahead of the others.
When it comes to racing over hurdles, the five-year-old gelding has done a better job compared to his opponents. He has appeared in five of such events and the best he could manage was a third place on a couple of times. Other than that, he has been unable
to cause many problems for his rivals.
In his most recent outing, the Donald McCain’s trainee was given a general starting price of 13 to 2 and he was up against some very good runners. He did not have any chances of winning that event, but still managed to finish in third place, which was a
very good effort. If he repeats a similar show, he will definitely be in contention of a victory at Bangor-on-dee.
Young jockey, Paul O'Brien, will be partnering I’m A Gangster in the race today. He is a talented rider and has managed to win one race over hurdles. He will be making his second appearance in this format and will be hoping to be successful once again.
