Im Going To Greece....

Question

On wednesday!! I realise theres no topics on the subject of greece.. id jsyt like a little advice and on what to take, the people, food, money and just a few tips thanks!! ill be taking a flight to athens and then a ferry to the island of syros.. xx

Well; what to take?

Have some mosquito repellent, take only small amounts of shampoo, conditioner and suncream, and buy the rest when you get there, it saves on weight, and leaves you with a little more room in your suitcase.

Camera,

Book,

Magazines,

Travel insurance,

Tickets,

Passport,

Small first aid kit, ( plasters, Antiseptic cream etc)

Suncream

Aftersun

Its very hot out there at the moment ( I live in Cyprus!) so make sure you drink plenty of water during the daytime to avoid dehydration

It can be expensive, so keep a close on on your budget and your spending.

with regard to money take just enough euro's to last a couple of days and get them either from the post office or marks and spencers in the uk and then change your stirling in greece as you will get a better exchange rate over there.

greeks are great people and you will really enjoy your stay there.

Well, you will have a good time. Syros is not cheap though. You should have about 150 euro for every day you will be staying, to cover all your expenses, room, food and transportation. The food in Greece is excellent, try all the local delicacies, just avoid seafood in touristic areas of Athens. Take a hat, sun block cream (and use it!) and sunglases. And of course a bathing suit. The best beaches of Syros are Galissas, Delphini, Abela, and Komito. The people are nice and Syros has anamazing neoclasical main town. Also try the local loukoumia! and home made with local products ice-cream at dai-dadi on the port.

Enjoy yourself! And don't ride motorbikes, take the bus to beaches and evening entertainment.
