Im Heading To Dublin In May for the day. Could anyone recomend an interesting place to dine / drink?

We're only going to Dublin for the day, as a birthday surprise for my friend. so we only have around eight hours in Dublin. I have been to Dublin a number of times when I was younger, so know my way around tourist spots somewhat, however would like to know how restaurants / pubs rate these days! can you help? all surgestions welcome!

To eat go to Gallaghers Boxty house on Temple Bar, the pub St John Gogarty is opposite & has irish music in the bar from 2-30 pm, another good pub is the Brazen head about 5mins from Temple Bar, the food looks good & the craic is excellent. A good visit is the Guinness Storehouse, book on line to save the queues & go early if you can. We were in Dublin last weekend & it was fabulous, really friendly people, enjoy!!
