ive been in public school from pre-k to 7th grade but i decided then that i wanted to be homeschooled because the people at my new school, when i moved there at 7th grade, arent the type of people i would be fitting in. it was really uncomfortable so i begged to be homeschooled and i did for 7th and 8th but once (right now) i got to 9th grade, i felt like i needed to change and im not going to be able to finish homeschool for this year. im deciding to go back to public school But im Kinda scared about what the students and teachers will think of me when i get back. its the worst school ive been to and i just wish i would go back to the city ive been in school before (in grade school). thats my parents decision. but all im asking is, Is It a Good Idea to go BACK to public school ?

sorry for the long paragraph...

  1. Go back dude....

You gotta take the bad with the good....

Don't make these years a waste of what could have been....But you lived lived to the fullest when you had the chance....

You're going to have bad times and deal with people you don't like, but ya know what? That's life....

I wish I could go back....

  2. If you really want to go back, then go ahead.  You can always return to homeschooling.

But, it seems like you aren't quite sure you want to go.  And frankly, I don't see any reason why you should.  There are more opportunities available with homeschooling.  If you aren't going for those opportunites or your parents are discouraging it, then I could see an upside to school.

You may want to read Grace Llewelyn's "Teenage Liberation Handbook", it could really help you think about how you want to live your life.

    Good luck :D

  3. i dont think so at this point.......

why dont you what untill a higher grade level....as 10th or 11th and see if than you can get along better , because of the age thing...and peer pressure isnt the same as in younger and lower grades...and also in High School you should be able to take a Vo-Tech classes or such that will help maybe to prepare you for the Job world.........sometimes in lower grades and classes as in middle school and first year fo High school they seem not to allow them as much information or selection.....Just a thought !!

Honestly i wouldnt  want to go to public school ever.........

and no , i've been out of school many many years..........

I have a homeschooled child....they do Great....and this to will probably be the way it will  be after they get a little older and a higher grade level ....and the ability to obtain a career choice classes , pointed in what ever they decide to take to obtain that career .

  4. relax take it easy for there is nothing that we can do

  5. I was home schooled from grade 2 - 9 and went back for what is high school here (10 - 12), i think it is a personal decision that you need to make, you can successfully finish high school as a home schooler, but sometimes just going to school is easier.  For me I found myself lacking motivation at home and could never have earned my diploma at home which is required for scholarships/university here in Canada.  I'm sure you would be fine back at regular school since you have not been out of the system for that long, and you can always switch back if it is awful.

  6. Well going back isn't bad in itself, but if the school is that dreadful then I can't see how going back could be a good idea. Are you scared or just a little nervous? What I mean is, do you think you're going to get bullied for being different? Have you not kept up with your studies so the teachers might give you a hard time?

You need to have a serious talk with your parents about your concerns.

  7. I don't really understand why you want to go back.  Is something bad at home?

  8. this is a hard ?  I home school my 9 year old and have planed to put her in public high school when she is old enough just to help her  with college.  however this sounds like a scary school, have to talked to your parents about your concerns?  Maybe there is a different school, or you could do part time public school.  I know that is offered here, that way you could meet some new people with out feeling overwhelmed.  hope this helps

  9. Learn to deal with other kids now. You might not fit in, but it's better you learn to deal with them now at school then get marked as someone unable to work with when you are an adult. Yes, it's a good idea to go back to public school. Or even a private school. Just something with other teenagers. This might shock you, but they all feel awkward being there. Even the popular kids have that at some point.

  10. I go to a school just like that, its a life skills center, kids on parole who had to be kicked out of school, kids who couldnt make it through puclic schooling, behavoral IEPs, and whatnot, and believe me its a wanna be gangsters and gansters.... i couldnt concentrate on anything and its so unmotivating to be in an enviroment where no one wants to graduate, they just want to turn 18 so they can drop out. If I could go back to homeschooling I would.... now Im just getting my GED.

  11. its always worth a shot. and what can the people say... 'thats the boy who was homeschooled?' thats really it. you can always make up a lie saying your parents made you or something. i mean, its not like you were crying in 7th grade complaining or anything [[ i dont think atleast ]] and there will always be someone who you will fit in with because there are all different types of cliques that are all a little different. and besides, when your homeschooled you miss out on a lot of things that happen in school. like the fights, the rumors, being social, lunch w a lot of people and other things. and im not saying that rumors are good and that fights happen all the time but there are occasional out bursts and you miss having to hear about it and stuff. i mean you cant tell me that these things arent fun. and for everyone reading, i shouldnt even be calling it a fight cause no one even gets pushed. they just make a scene. there is just a lot to miss out on when you are home school and i personally think it is a good idea to go to a public school. theyre fun. and besides your parents are already paying for it so you might as well take advantage of it all.
