Im Starting Rowing Next Year What Exerzizes r good??

Im going to be starting rowing in about 1 year and what are some good exercizes to get good upper body strangth??

I already run alot and do some dumbell exercizes but what is the best thing for Rowing?

  1. If your goal is to start rowing the best way to train for this sport is too row.  If you are a member of a gym they should have a rowing machine.  Incorporate that into your workout and it will increase your cardiovascular endurance in rowing.  If you are interested in further developing the muscles used in rowing add a strength training regimen specific to these muscles.

    Upper Body

    Bicep curls

    Upright row

    Deadlift

    Core exercises (abs)

    Lower Body

    Leg press

    Calf raises

    To prevent injury and creating a disproportionate body image also incorporate the opposing joint action of these exercises.  Triceps extensions, hamstring curls, bench press, etc.  Also, be sure  to stretch after exercising.  It helps prevent injuries and makes you stronger.
