Im a U S citizen and im getting married in Madrid Spain...?

Question

In spain they are asking for some kind of proof of residence at my current address for the last 2 years...The spanish consulate in chicago says to just right one up and have it notorized.

Any suggestions on what they are expecting?...

Do i need to include address on there?...maybe passport number....?

You need to get something in writing from either the Spanish consulate or the U.S. consulate.

you will have contact address with your wife in Spain, and you have to do it with your passport is all, in case you have letter so thy will send it in that your address.

I have been to Madrid many times, last in 2004.  When I got off the plane and went through Customs they asked for my Passport and other I.D. with current address, I gave them my Drivers License, which satisfied the agent on duty.

Madrid is a wonderful, friendly city.  I will warn you, when you see the women there you may have second thoughts on getting married.

you are lucky because most European countries do not allow marriage in their country, but Spain does:

Certificate of residence. This document may be obtained at the Junta Municipal of the Tenencia de Alcaldia in the district of residence. # If an American is not a permanent resident in Spain, he/she can sign an affidavit before an American Consul indicating his/her place of residence for the last six years.

therefore get a letter typed by someone,with your proofs, such as electric bills, gaz etc.go to a notary republic(bank or court ) have it notorized and when you go to Spain,go to the US consulate, it shoul be okay, have it signed by the US consul,
