  1. Hi Louie

If your kids are small, this is the perfect time to register them at the US Embassy or US Consulate.

By having one parent being a US citizen, the child automatically has dual citizenship, considering that they were born abroad. You MUST register the kids as soon as possible though.

Lucky you, you are in Switzerland, my husband is originally from there. Love the cheese and chocolate!

    Best Regards!

  2. No. Your children would be swiss, the country of their birth.

  3. They become a citizen of whatever country they were born in.

  4. if they are born in the us yes if not i dont know

  5. They will if you, as a father, go down to the US consulate with their birth certificates and your passport and register them. Call first to see if any other paperwork is needed. I registered my son in Brazil 17 years ago. he children will not have all the rights you have - they cannot be president of the country, they cannot get their non-American spouses permanent visas and such, but they will be citizens. And maybe dual citizens since Switzerland allows it.

  6. Have you lived in the USA more than 5 years?  Were 2 of those years after the age of 14?

If no, then the kids will not qualify for US citizenship.

If yes, then the kids can qualify for US citizenship, but you must report the birth to the US embassy and file a document called Consular Report of Birth Abroad.  After you file the report the kid(s) will get a US passport, certificate of citizenship, birth certificate and Social Security card.

  7. It depends. Take a look at the link, the qualifications for one US citizen parent are there.

  8. hi, u can file them to get the US greencard ONLY.  Form I-130 is what you need to file them.  After submitting this form, USCIS will request you to complete another Form I-864 to show u have enough $$ to support them here.  After a couple of years living here, they can apply for the naturalization.
