how is this read out loud 3 +2= 5 is it equal or equals? give examples please, thanks.

    You use the plural form

    Because you are "describing" more than one thing.

    one is an orange

    two or more are oranges

    one horse

    two horses

    Three plus two equals five.

    Just like five plus seven equals twelve.

    Equal (without an s) would be used for:

    6 plus 2 is equal to 4 plus 4.     or

    6 is equal to 6

    This is the way it would be used related to math problems. Is this what you were looking for, I didn't really understand the question too much. :)


  3. its "equals", because you use the plural form of it. it wouldnt make sense to say:

    three plus two equal five. lol. it sounds silly.
