well me and my friend are starting 7th grade next year and we want to take up cheerleading. one thing, im NOT flexible. like i could touch my toes (barely). but when it comes to splits and tumbling, i might as well kill myself just for trying. (figure of speech)

like for splits i cant keep my legs straight. im like about a like a foot off the floor. i cant even do a cartwheel. :'( im scared that i won't make it because i cant like do 3/4 of the stuff cheerleaders do. and i reeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy want to do cheerleading. the only thing i might have a chance in, is the dance.

yes, i do stretch everyday for like 20-30 minutes. my friend, shes very flexible. she is about 2 inches off the floor when it comes to splits. and she can do the bridge (i cant) she can also do a high kick without even trying

any tips or advice for cheerleading? other than be yourself and smile. any stretches to help me for like splits and to jump higher?i would really appreciate it!! thanks!!

  1. well in middle school cheerleading you don't have to be that flexible to make the team. in fact, when i was in middle school everyone who tried out made the team! but once your in high school not everyone makes the team. so you at least have two years to get more flexible. there is nothing i can say to all of a sudden make you a better cheerleader..... you just have to practice. i would just keep streching everyday and eventually you will get there. maybe take a tumbling class or something at like a gymnastics place do learn more tricks..... just keep practicing!

    Good Luck!

  2. sorry u wont make it ur in worse condition than i was when i tried out!

  3. i know some cheerleader who just do the basic cart wheel and round off but she's a cheerleader because can dance.

if you work hard enough you'll be flexible .  little step at a time. as a cheerleader to help you .

cheerleading is not the only dance thing. in high school there is dance class that are not tumbling and gymnastic.

you should take tumbling or gymnastic class

tips: shout really LOUD , SMILE, and Confident!!

ps. my computer is not not getting new answer either.

if you dont make it, try again.

like i said, cheerleading is not the only dancing thing

  4. As our cheerleading coach says, "Its just not the things you do we are looking for, its the behaviour and grades." Some coaches don't care if you can do all those fancy routines, I know mine didn't. If you keep good grades and a great behaviour your bound to make it anyway. Besides you can never learn to split just in a few days. It takes lots of practice and flexibilty. On help for becoming flexible look at my source below. This gives good help and helped me while I stretched. As for toe-touching look at my other link. These two really helped me. Show your school spirit and wear it proud. Good luck.

  5. since your only starting 7th grade you have a great chance of getting in, just show them your trying and put effort into it.

with practice you'll become more flexible and learn different things like splits and tumbling.

Not everyone going onto the team can do those.
