Im a black girl..what color eye liner should i use? pls help!!?

im african american and idk what color eyeliner i should use..sometimes i try black but it looks goth and a little too dark..any suggestions or ideas.

also tell me like what color some celebrities use that are also black..thnx!

I'm white so obviously I can't offer help from personal experience, but I've seen african american celebs wearing bright color eyeliner like teal or navy blue and it looks really pretty cause the contrast against their skin tone makes it pop. For normal day makeup, I think a goldish bronze color would look good.

if your askin is really really dark than i suggest not to use any eye liner and stick with eyeshadow and blush.

If your skin isn't that dark then maybe its just the way all your make up looks together and that the combination isn't good.

Try Loreal HiP cream eyeliner in brown. I use it and Im about the same complexion as Kimberly Elise (brown skinned) and it looks really natural and people give me compliments all the time. If your trying to wear subtle makeup then maybe you should go for no eyeliner and just mascara in a bueish black. it sounds silly,but you cant tell it's blue for one, and it brightens your eyes instantaneously. it looks very natural and if you get a nice mascara then it won't smudge because eyeliner does smudge if your wear it all day.

Celebrities you should try to emulate are Rihanna for one. she is a lighter skin tone and she does actually wear very nice natural makeup from time to time. I try to emulate her style and people always give me compliments. she's a great beauty ICON. and no, im not talking about the outrageous looks for everyday looks, just her natural looks, even though I love her outrageous looks myself.

you need to watch how you put it on im dark brown skin and i always use black eye liner whenever i put on eye liner but you jus have to make it real thin on your eyes when using this colr i think you should use a drk brown eye liner or depending on how ur eyes are shaped a light brown you could also put on an eye liner that matches your eye color so that it could bring your eyes out more

apply black liner on ur eyes and then apply some brown liner or eye shadow on it to make it a bit subtle...that will look really nice..

I'm black and I use black. It has to be done correctly. If you really feel that the color is too drastic for you try Charcol Gray, Dark Brown, Purple etc.

I really really swear by Loreal' HIP Cream Eyeliner as it stays on all day without smudging and has really intense long lasting color. Good Luck :-)
