Im a canadian wanting to move to the US to be with my gf, how do i do that?

Just so everyone is aware, we are a g*y couple. Also i do work for a large well known retail company and we are able to transfer to another company in another country, as long as all the legal steps are in place. If that helps at all.

You can either get married and you would automatically get a visa (once you applied) or you can apply for a work visa if you have a high level of education or special skills.

A more guaranteed way to get a work visa is to find a job in the US first, and have the company sponsor your visa.  Keep in mind that there are a limited number of work visa's the US issues every year (to encourage companies to hire american citizens) so you have to have somewhat specialized skills or a high education level to qualify (a university degree or certification in an "in demand" skilled trade).
