i.e. going to work 2 1/2 miles away! I want, no NEED a car but can't find any good deals or cars that have been around since the prehistoric. Should I lease or should I buy?

  1. If you only work 2.5 miles away, you'd probably be better of leasing than buying. Depending on how much other driving you do of course, considering when you lease a car you have a limited amount of kms/miles you can drive per year.

  2. Leasing works best when you get a new car. Leasing for a college student may be a bit difficult without a cosigner, altho, some manufacturers offer special incentives for graduating/graduated students. Low interest financing for purchases is also available right now, so either direction you go will be fine as long as you can secure a loan.

I would personally lease because you can get a slightly better car similar monthly payments compared to buying. The difference is that you don't own the car at the end of the lease.

  3. Buy a smart car
