  1. No, you cannot.  You can only work part time for the school you are attending.

  2. no

  3. you are not allowed to work off-campus if you are holding F1 visa. however, If you dont have money to sustain yourself in US, you can talk with the student advisor at office of international students at school, they might make an exception and give you permission to work.....

  4. Not all Social Security numbers are valid for employment.  Students are forbidden to work.  You are limited to certain on-campus positions under certain circumstances, and internships if they are required as part of your particular program of study.  Most internships are unpaid, although some may offer a small stipend.  Internships are for course credit, not income!  If you go out and get a job, you are in violation of your student visa and must return to your home country immediately.

  5. No, your visa specifically states that you cannot work. If you get permission from your college though you can work but with certain limits.

  6. I'm going with f-1 student can work on campus

does your social security card got this on it "not valid for employment without immigration authorization" if so no you cant work off campus..

  7. Having the Social Security card does not mean that you can work off-campus. An F-1 student may be authorized to work off-campus on a part-time basis after having been in F-1 status for one full academic year provided that the student is in good academic standing as determined by the DSO.

Part-time off-campus authorized employment is limited to no more than twenty hours a week when school is in session. A student who is granted off-campus employment authorization may work full-time during holidays o r school vacation. The employment authorization is automatically terminated whenever the student fails to maintain status.

A student must request a recommendation from the DSO for off-campus employment. The DSO must complete such certification in SEVIS. The DSO may recommend the student for work off-campus for one year intervals.

The student should submit an application for employment authorization on Form I-765, with the fee to the service center having jurisdiction over his or her place of residence.

  8. Not without permission from your school, and not if this is your first year of college. talk to your foreign student advisor.
