  1. Keith, hi-d-hey, I've only got one good guess at that, and only because my stepdad's brother-in-law was Kenneth Sharp, from Owensboro, Ky.

Darryl (Crybaby) Waltrip, (Nascar driver/now commentator) drove for Uncle Ken back in the early 70's and he broke a track record on a little ol' track out south of there not far from Pleasant Ridge, (I was home on leave) in 1974 (it was, because I was driving the 66' Pontiac, Ventura, that I bought for $175.00), and there was a huge celebration that night, and "Crybaby" got his sponsorship for Nascar by breakin' that track record....... But back to your question,

asphalt is closer to Daytona than dirt, same as peanutbutter & jelly is closer to bread than cookies....follow?

Anyhow, the old man, said that Darryl, would have my other cousin, Leroy, drive a motorhome to the races, so Uncle Ken could attend the races too. Uncle Ken had lost a lung to cancer & it eventually took his life. I've had no contact from anybody on that side of the family for a # of years now, and I don't even know if any of them are still around, but I am...ahhh,....... for the good old days.

    Goodluck & Good fishing!
