  1. It all depends on the skill of the kids at the school.  At my school, girls run 6-6:45 min mile training pace, and a 5:30-6:30 min mile race pace. But they are 6 time defending state champs and went to Nike outdoor nationals! I'd say the average girls varsity team member should run at least 6:30-7:30min training pace, and a 6-6:30min race pace! I HOPE THIS HELPED! GOOD LUCK AT MAKING VARSITY!!!!!

  2. It all depends on how good the rest of your team is. If you have a really good team it will be harder for you to make varsity, but if you have an okay team than it will be a bit easier to make varsity. Most girls on varsity run on average about 6 30 pace. If you run 6 30 or under you will have a pretty good chance on making it onto varsity. If you don't have a very good team you could probably make it onto varsity with around 7 minute pace. I know on my team Freshman year we didn't have anyone on varsity who couldn't run under 7 minute pace. But my Sophomore year we only had our top 5 runners under 7 minute pace. So it changes all the time. But your best bet would to be running around 6 30 pace which should give you a good chance. Most girls on varsity will be running anywhere from sub 6 minute pace to even over 7 minute pace.

Hope this helps :)  Good Luck this season!

  3. to make the last spot on my schools varsity xc team you would need to run about 7 minute miles.  I run at a AA school so if you go to a AAA or AAAA school its going to be faster
