  1. Being that it is a 5 star hotel, that caters to foreign vacationers I am sure there will be some "greengo" items on the menu I guarantee you that!

  2. No potatoes in Mexico.  They eat rice and beans, and beans and rice.  A nice hotel will have some meat, too, and probably fresh salads and fruits, but you don't want to eat those or you get what we call in the USA "Montezuma's Revenge" (diarrhea and GI distress).  You'll feel like c**p if you don't drink purified water (make sure seal has not been cracked and bottle refilled w/ tap water) or if you eat fresh fruits, veggies, or garnishes that are not cooked, or are cooked but touching raw fruits or veggies or garnishes.

  3. Well, mexico is kinda like the U.S so of course...... breakfast might have toast so toast eat it plain!!! lunch/dinner....... you WILL get plain meats maybe potatoes, but hispanics and spanish peaple are known to eat meat more. you can just tell them EX..... i would like a enchilada plain just with  PLAIN meat.[cheese if you want it] So just tell em i like my food plain and they will cook it up special for YOU!!!!! that is unless you dont mind paying money for food

  4. Do yourself a favor. Vacation in Britain.  Or midwest United States.   Very bland food.

  5. Hotels of 5 stars in Mexico are among the very best hotels in the world. They will have anything you wish on the menu. The menus will always be available in English as well as Spanish! The captain and waiters will ALL speak English!

Arrachera will most likely be available at any good hotel It is a "skirt" steak and one of the tenderest cuts in Mexico, it will come with French fries or mashed potatoes if you wish (there is almost always a choice), also carne asada (a thin steak) chicken b*****s (roasted, cordon blue, Parmesano) are also favorites in these hotels. The fish will be stupendous, "Huachinago al mojo de ajo" (red snapper in butter and garlic) is usually to "die for."

Almost all entrès will come with choice of potatoes or rice, pasta will also be available. In the buffets the majority of foods will NOT be spicy and the waiters will be 100% professional in guiding you to what you wish!

In short FEAR NOT! You can eat better in a 5 star Mexican hotel than almost any place on Earth!

  6. If you know the language at all, I'm sure if you just ask for whatever you want and they will more than likely make it for you. Especially if it's a 5 star hotel. I don't think you'll have any problems. Ummm, and yes, they do eat potatoes in Mexico...just not as much as Americans.

  7. if you want PLAIN then ask the waiter for a tortilla frijoles and aroz...

  8. If you are staying at a 5 star resort,  then yes you will be able to get plain meat and potatoes.  Since you know the cost, you must know the resort you are considering.  Why not just go to their website and check out what their restaurants menus are like?

  9. You would be surprised that they have alot of variet of food. Especially at the hotels there they have the basic stuff, for example eggs, bacon, and toast or pastries with milk, coffee, and juices. For lunch and stuff they have some pretty good hamburgers and stuff like that. Of course they have their own traditional stuff, but they always tend to have a variety of stuff especially in high tourist areas. They have this meat called "carne asada" which is meat, sliced thin. It's very good! I'm sure they will give you potatoes if you request them.
