There are tonnes.  I personally would start with the three books which started after Return of the Jedi.  

Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn is Volume 1.

There are plenty after that - separate stories about Han Solo etc.  But this is nice in the sense its another trilogy after the original movies and the stories/references will be fresh in your mind.

There are thousands of Star Wars novels out there. For example, go to www.amazon.com and go to the section for books and type in 'Star Wars'. You'll find a TON of them.

yesssssss i am a geek to don't worry. I read one that was between the movies one and two and it was amazing!!! im also reading one called Betrayal and its about han solo and luke skywalkers kids. I haven't fifnished by they are all good. Look for them in anybook store under Science-Fiction. and there are many,
