No, Im not talking about Huey Lewis' 1983 Album.

I dont hate Sports, its just that Im not into them. Especially team Sports. They're kinda boring. I do enjoy watching women's beach volleyball upon occassion, but thats about it. Baseball and Football seems really really boring to me and I never understand the obsession some people have with teams and stuff like that. I mean, who cares? Is it really the end of the world if your team doesnt win? I dont get it. I dont get the mentality of it either. Drinking beer, eating chips and watching The Superbowl sounds dull.

  1. It's not at all unusual.  Everyone has their likes and dislikes. Some women are crazy about shoes.  They don't do that much for me,lol.

Key is to  be true to yourself and not worry about what others think.

  2. no. not the least bit unusal. everybody to thier own . you may well fall into the silent majority of people who could not care less about sports . sports fans , are the minority throughout the world . very very few women care . men like yourself dont care . people who care are frusterated athlets , fanaisizers , or mental migets who really do think that they are better than any player on the field . people who spend 175 dollars for a jersey , 40 dollars , coffee mug , so on and so forth . are trying to live failed athlrtic endevors . yell scream , at opposing players since they failed at sports , last year they played  a  sport was at the age of 12. got tossed , mentally inadeqte to play , physically could not do it . coperate anerica is taking advantage of state taxbreaks , city taxbreaks . so they can continue to rob the fans of thier paycheck . never do thier billionsdo any good to the team . only revenue increase . liquor sales . but the city caters to the team . meanwhile people cannot get a taxbreak on thier homes , if they become ill or disabled . the city will throw them out after owining thier home for 50 years . tax the leech , save citizens . to get stinf-faced drunk and behave the way people do . it is ridicolous . this may sound harsh , but i did play pro- sport canada and the united states . loved the city of boston , did not like the beer in the face , or the comments made by some fool hiding behind the plexiglass . there is a under 19 world championship event , being held 60 miles from home . do have free tickets , for every day . i wont go it is past history , plus in canada gas is over 6 dollars us per gallon . played to long made lot of money . just do not care when see homeless people , single mothers starving . goverment abuse to the poor . thanks

  3. Its not unusual, sports not for everyone. do something you enjoy or you won't be happy

  4. It's not unusual. And I'm not talking about the Tom Jones song.

I've never really enjoyed watching sports since I was a boy. And then it was mainly because others in the home seemed to enjoy it so I followed along.

I generally had no interest in watching SOMEONE ELSE do something. Living vicariously through others and having stupid loud arguments with friends about this team versus that team.

Of late I've become a fan of a sort-of anti-sport. Women's flat track roller derby. Not so surprisingly, it's an easy sport for anyone (even a guy) to become a part of.

  5. It's not at all weird. Every guy has different interests. I know many who don't like sports, but enjoy plenty of other male interests.

Who cares, anyhow? It's your life and it's who you are; do what you enjoy.

  6. I can only sit for a little while and watch a ball being fought over.  I used to like watching cars drive around in circles.  I'm not into it too much anymore.  I've recently taken up sailing.  That can be a sport if your racing another boat.

    Best Wishes

  7. If you were in my country, (Australia), then yep, that would be very unusual. I think the appeal of it is beyond the actual "here we are getting a ball from one end to the other" thing ... which is, after all, quite boring. I think there's a whole culture surrounding it - and yes people do get very involved (okay obsessed actually) with following particular players, and particular teams, and learning all the stats, etc. I think there are some sports in which you can certainly admire the strategy involved, and others in which there is a level of physical strength and agility required that is easy to admire.

But a very big part of the appeal of following sport, at least over here, is the social aspect of it ... we have more televised sport than any other Western nation, and the day after a good match, all the elements of the game will be deconstructed and commented upon in workplaces and social settings across the country. Following a game together (or a team) is an act of mateship. Many barbecues and parties are organised on the night of a really big match for people to come together with their friends and sit and watch it - celebrating or commiserating together, depending upon the outcome!

So yes, it's somewhat unusual for a guy not to like sport, but it's not totally weird. I think because you have an all-consuming interest in more cultural pursuits like music, you are fulfilled and don't really feel the need to take an interest in sporting matches. I can certainly relate to that - they do nothing for me personally either. But I do understand that following the sports results is an interesting hobby for some.
