  1. Here's what I did... I started emailing coaches my junior year in schools that I was interested in. Then I made a video of my swing on the range with your instructer and have them write you a letter of rec. and sent it to the schools that i was interested in with my resume. I also sent them a copy of my schedule of tournaments so they can come watch. Get ahold of teh coaches and bring up scholarships because if you dont then they wont offer them. That's how i got my scholarship...

  2. I'd start contacting schools now. They may not respond yet, but get on their radar. I started w/ emails introducing myself, along with a golf-specific resume.  I ended up playing division 1, in a great conference in the northeast, and had most of my schooling paid for.  It takes time and persistence, but someone will want  you (assuming you can make a birdie or two :P )

  3. contact by email now. try to get to know a lot of coaches especially at schools that interest you. keep up an email relationship with them. they cannot start calling you until July 1 of the summer before senior year in d2. biggest thing to do is start looking at schools and to contact coaches in some way.

  4. All good points so far.  I would also highly suggest getting into a few local and regional tournaments and seeing how you do.  From what I have heard, even D2 schools in the best golf regions have pretty good teams.  So a handicap of 3 or below might be a starting place.
