Do I have to have parental consent if the baby is born while i'm still 17?

  1. You don't have to have parental consent, although if your parent's don't want you to, you will have to respect their wishes.

    This is a big responsibility and you are very lucky that someone thinks so highly of you!


  2. To become a Godmother there must be a baptism ceremony which isn't until after the baby is born. Probably a few weeks after the baby is born.

    I became my little cousin's Godmother when I was 16. I do not believe there is an age requirement.

  4. A godmother in a religious sense is just a person who guides the child religiously. You are old enough to do that. If you are written into a will to have legal guardianship and the parents die before you turn 18, you can just drag the case out in court until your birthday.
