  1. Perhaps ask for $500/wk

  2. make is $550 a week

  3. Um just times that by two thats what the professionals tought me! But maybe come down a little bit and then ask for more later! Hope it works!

  4. If i was you i would see what they offer first..and see if its reasonable.  If not you can counter offer..what age is the first kid??

  5. You have to consider the family's situation and how much would it be worth to them to keep you.  With a newborn you will also have lots more work and your attention will have to be divided among both children.  What other extra work will the family ask you to do?  do you do anything else now besides caring for the baby? I mean any cleaning of the house?  Any cooking other than for the baby?

It seems to me that $ 600 a week would not be unreasonable. They charge about that at day care and they do have more children, and restricted hours.

If the mom is staying at home at the beginning when the baby is born you can negotiate to start the raise of your pay only after she leaves the two children with you only, and your pay could be the same while she is the primary care giver for the baby.

You also need to consider what other benefits such as days off, vacation, etc. that the family gives you and has been giving you.

It seems to me that you are a great care giver and it would be worth to negotiate with you if I was the parents of these children.

My sister in-law had a nanny for 3 children in Chicago and she was paying $ 2,500 a month. (one newborn, one 18 mth. old, and one 4 year old)

    Good luck!!!!

  6. ask if they plan on giving you a raise after the second baby is born and accept the raise they can give you.thats my advice since it is a surefire reliable job i am sure they will not want to lose you.soon the other child will be in school so maybe even if you get no raise that'll be less work for you.

  7. $425.  I have been with my family for 9.5 years. I now make $650 weekly for 45 hours, with 3 weeks vacation, 10 sick days. I also make $75 per week night, $200 per weekend, and I also make time and a half for overtime. I am given $250 every 6 months for every 6 months I complete. Yearly for the first 5 years = $50 a week raise. After that I receive $100 a raise every other year.

I began working when the first little boy was 8 months old, and he is now 10 years old. The second baby was born right before the oldest son's 2nd birthday, and he is now 8 years old.
