  1. There are different types of vegetarians: some that eat eggs some that won't some that eat chicken some that wont some that eat fish and then Vegans eat absolutely nothing of animal origin at all.  I tried the same thing. You can go on www.ehow.com and type in: how to be a vegetarian or even purchase the book Vegetarianism for dummies :o)  Hope this helps.  Good Luck!! I went back to meat.. It helps to have a good support system.. my fiance says things like: Come on, a little meat wont hurt lol

  2. i understand, its hard to adjust. Amy's brand makes a lot of frozen dinners that mimic traditional meat foods. They make a veggie meatloaf with "meatloaf," corn and peas, mashed potatoes, and gravy. It really tastes good, trust me! You can also try the Boca line. There is a boca burger called 'grillers prime' that was always my favorite, and my meat eating friends who tasted it liked it too. It's unfortunately not vegan, but is vegetarian. All these things are meaty and probably better than anything homemade. They are high in sodium however, so just don't eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    Good luck!!

  3. Try a good steak.  That would take care of the cravings for a while.

  4. I'm not a vegetarian, but I just don't eat much meat because I don't like the lack of flavor. (except for fish or occasionally chicken) therefore I don't have any "cravings". I feel like, if you were a vegetarian, you wouldn't have "cravings" for meat.

Oh, to "Wahoo", eating a steak is like chewing on the sole of an old work boot, and probably tastes about the same, so how would that satisfy the askers' craving for meat?

  5. Eat beans (there are so many kind!) & nuts!

    Very nutritional & healthy.

  8. there are many "meets" that are 100% vegan. look around in stores like walmart and health foos stores or ask a sales person. At walmart you can find it in the refrigerated section make sure to look really well because it is kinda kidden and also look in the fresh vegetables and fruit section. My favorite is veggie crumbles which looks like ground beef and tastes like it too without any animal products. I use it to make vegan sloppy joes and vegan chilli. Good Luck!!

  9. If your craving is nutritional, eggs, beans, etc that have a lot of protein.

If it's more texture/flavor, there are a lot of really good "fake meat" products out there! I like Morning Star a lot. The burgers and such may not be as convincing (I've been a vegetarian since I was 13 and can't really remember how things taste anymore to be honest) but especially if you take the crumbles and bake them into a casserole or something of the like, it can be really satisfying!

Best of luck, and good decision. :)

Also I forgot to say, when I started I used a tapering down system--the first few weeks I ate fish and chicken, then after that I only ate fish for a few weeks, and then became a full vegetarian. That helped me a lot with the early cravings, and the first month is hands down the hardest. It only gets easier from here.

  10. im a vegetarian 2 wen grocery shopping go 2 the freezer isles and look 4 morning star, boca , & quorn products which r great substitutes 4 meat
