  2. Do not ever, I mean ever, listen to the answers you get here. These two are dead wrong. Many pilots are color blind. The FAA has a provision for a certificate of demonstrated ability. They will take you to the airport and have the tower flash the light gun at you. If you can identify the color, you can fly. I say again, never never ever ever listen to an answer here. Even from me. Don't let a flying career pass you by because somebody gave you false information. Look at FAR Part 67.

  4. You most certainly can get a license to fly as a Private or Commercial pilot.  

    I have a red-green color deficiency and a pilot's license.  Some airlines may restrict their hiring to pilot's with normal color vision.  I don't really know.  But you can have a career as a professional pilot with the color deficiency.  

    This is too important to leave to answers from strangers on the web.  Check with a professional or write a letter to a few airlines and charter operations to see what their requirements are.
