  1. hey, buddy. Serving in USAF WILL get you in commercial airflights, but you gotta make sure you fly big ones in AF, like c-160 or something, e.g. not f-22, although its cool to fly f-22, after your discharge you'll have to complete "re-learning" course to qualify for com. airlines pilot.

  2. You only have 25 hrs logged?  How much of it is PIC time?  The next 250 hours will be pretty tough and should be the time when you REALLY begin to fall in love with flying.  You have to learn Chandelles, Lazy 8's, 50* steep turns, and whatever else your school demands.  Its pretty hard to get into the Airforce already, let alone a flight slot in flight school.  Maybe if you were to enlist active duty and learn how to get an OCS slot you may have a better chance.  If pilots in your squadron trust you as a maintenance tech and you have the 'brains' to fly then you could MAYBE be trusted in flight 'training'.  You will also work on your instrument and commercial ratings which will challenge you till your hair turns grey.  Good luck!!

  3. Just take it one day at a time.  Learn what your instructor wants from you tomorrow, and let the 250 hours take care of themselves.  No, serving in the AF does not get you on with an airline.  Flying in the AF will help, but there are no guarantees.

  4. If you don't get into the officers school (AF Academy), you will NOT be a pilot in the AF.  The recruiters will tell you everything you want to hear, but the recruiters don't recruit for officers.

To be an officer candidate, you have to have near perfect score in HS.  You also have to get your US congressman to give you a commission (recommendation).

    Good Luck...

  5. Try learning from your local AFROTC
