  1. I dont think you need a visa or anything like that, but if your going to work you might need a social security number.

  2. I think you'll only need a PPS number. You get that from the local social security office.Good luck with your new life on the emerald isle.

  3. as long as you have an eu passport you do not require anything to go and live in ireland,  no work permits no visa, just yourself.

best of luck with your move

  4. No - as an EU citizen you are free to live and work in any other EU member state

  5. No, its the EU so you are fine.

  6. I think Paul 1966 has said it all, as a UK citizen you can move to Ireland & be treated more or less as if you are an Irish citizen.  This is link may have some information that might interest you on moving to Ireland:

The only thing I have to say is if I was going home to Ireland, I live in the UK, I would look into how the countries link National Insurance contributions & the Irish social insurance equivalent - every penny that goes towards the pension needs to be accounted for : )

  7. The EU rules are irrelevant in this case.    There has been free movement and right of employment/residence for both British & Irish citizens between the U.K. & The Irish Republic ever since Ireland was partitioned in the 1920s.

The only official things you will need to do are the same as any returning Irish citizen might have to do -- Register your car with Irish plates, notify the Revenue Commissioners for income tax purposes, etc.

You do not need any visa, residence permit, or other form of permission to live and work in the Republic of Ireland if you are a U.K. citizen.

  8. Hi you should not have any problem getting a job in ireland- you do not require a work visa or anything like that -  i hope this link  helps.

  9. No because we are all part of the EU.  You just need your UK passport.
