  1. Do you think the USCIS office in Newark is prejudiced against the state of New York? Perhaps they never forgave them for not recognizing that Liberty Island is truely part of New Jersey?

    The real question is whether you are legally married or not. If your marriage is based on a hetero relationship and valid in the state where it took place, it's valid anywhere in  the US and valid for US immigration purposes.
