  1. Always make sure to eat, because eating disorders are VERY serious.

Anyways, on the go i suggest fruits like apples or bananas. You can also try out some sunflower seeds or granola

  2. ''Not eating'' is just not an option. Please be honest with yourself. If you have an eating disorder you really should get it checked out.

Understand that food is not the enemy. Food is good for you and nourishes your body. Eating disorders are very damaging to your body.

They make you feel bad about yourself, can cause skin problems, hair loss, tiredness, and nutritional deficiencies, amongst other problems. Eating disorders also damage the function of ALL of your major organs.

I'm not saying this to scare you, I'm saying this for the benefit of your health.

Eat properly, enjoy your food, and take care of yourself.

  3. Get a thermos and take iced V8 juice with you. There's also spirulina supplement that actually is the healthiest food known. These pills or capsules will be in small amounts, but it is very very nutrient rich. As a vegetarian and being a female you might be at risk of anemia so if you ever feel light headed I would get a doctor to test your blood for iron.

Now there are 2 kinds of iron. There is hemoglobin iron that you get from red meat and there is non-hemoglobin iron that you get from vegitables. Hemoglobin iron will ALWAYS absorb better, but if you drink orange juice with your vegetables the iron can absorb twice as much because vitamin c has this effect on non-hemoglobin iron.

Also don't forget that most vegetables don't have all of the aminos you need to make a complete protein so you need to do research to combine foods to get all of them. FYI soy and spirulina are complete proteins.

  4. Haha I feel your pain. I'm a Vegetarian and I hate eating with my friends 'cause they always get Chicken or something. So I just starve.

  5. Eat something!

If you don't it's not only really bad for you,

it also gives a bad name to vegetarians everywhere.

How many people do you think, must have

chosen not to go vegetarian because they see

    malnourished teenagers and start to

believe that you cannot eat healthily if you do

not consume meat? There must be soo many.

People are always coming into this category

and bashing us. They tell us how they envision

vegetarians all over the world and that's partly

    because of people like you.

    No disrespect intended.

Eat up. There are lots of useful websites

with good ideas for veggie snacks.

    Google it, babes. ;)

  6. "im at the point where i might just not eat."

Maybe you should be seen for an eating disorder.

It is really irritating when people say that being vegetarian is making them sick but they don't mention a single word about what they eat.

  7. I know exactly what you mean.  I'm a vegetarian too and to complicate things even more.  I try to eat Kosher foods.

The Vegetarian Resource Group can give you all the information you need to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle via their website, journal, newsletter and conferences, as well as, recommended publications and educational resources.

You may also want to carry snack foods like Kelp Crunch bars.  They're for people who don’t enjoy the taste of sea vegetables.  Kelp Crunch bars are a sweet snack that makes it easy to reap the benefits of the sea’s nutrients. They make a delicious snack and can be a healthy addition to sack lunches.  And better yet, they do not contain peanuts.  The ingredients are sesame seeds, kelp, brown rice syrup, maple syrup and vanilla.

You may or may not know this, but sea vegetables contain ten to twenty times the minerals of land plants, and are highly concentrated sources of many valuable trace elements and other nutrients.

  8. If you parents know, tell them you would feel better if they got to organic, meat free foods and snacks for you. There are a bunch out there!

Also, if a friend invites you for dinner, simply tell them you're vegetarian before you visit -- I'm sure your host will try to make something friendly for you :D.
