  1. Make sure u keep yourself busy. Keep your mind occupied on other things. Get plenty of exercise, watch movies, and surround yourself with the people u love and trust the most. Be strong and dont be afraid to seek help if u feel u need it. Good luck!!

  2. Do something else to distract you from the pills AND go to see a doctor or psychiatrist or someone to help with your drug problems. Do NOT take more pills because you could overdose and die!

                       Hope this helps:)

  3. What kind of pills?  I'll wager that it is a benzodiazapine, I'm thinking it's Ambian.

How bad are the physical withdrawal symptoms?

Um Phil, with Klons (and almost all new generation benzos), weening to a pain-free state, depending on dosage could require up to and perhaps more than a year.  Trust me, I know.

  4. No you're not.

You're buying them at the store.  Diphenhydramine is not addictive.

You constantly hallucinate because you're taking hallucinogens, what do you expect?  You're addicted to the ritual, and NOT the drug.

  5. Once you have been addicted to something, the desire to feel the effects again never go away.  Will power and determination are the only things that can help you once you get off the pills.

  6. Well, you probably don't want to hear this, but you really need to see an adictions couselor. Been there done that myself. You need to find out the reason you just want to go to sleep and kind of "ignore" life in general. I totally understand though.

  7. wow

    knowing there is a problem

is half way to a solution

    try not to replace one

    drug for another

  8. dude u better stop it!!!!!!or ur goin to end up like a psycho!!!!!!

  9. You will probably need to slowly lower you dose so the withdrawal symptoms won't be so bad.

  10. You left out one of the most important details: What sleeping pills are you taking? I take klonopin everyday, an anti-anxiety pill that is also used for insomnia. I get a prescription from my doctor, and the pills are closely regulated in the US. Klonopin is very habit-forming and the withdrawal symptoms can be very severe unless you taper off very slowly. It might take a few months. This is true for similar meds, like valium, xanax, librium, etc.

Like someone else wrote, it sounds like are taking over-the-counter pills from a drug store. Even though they are not as addictive as the drugs mentioned above, I really suggest you taper off slowly.

The first thing to do is to see a counselor or psychotherapist, hopefully someone who knows a lot about treating addictions. Also, get a checkup from a doctor to make sure there are no physical problems after taking so many sleeping pills.

Your doctor, or possibly a counselor, can hopefully give you practical advice on getting off the sleeping pills. This is only my guess, but I would say you should move from 6-8 pills a day to 5 pills a day for about a week. Then you would spend the next week taking 4 pills, then 3 pills, etc.

Even if you are taking over the counter meds rather than valium, klonopin, etc., your mind and your body are used to that daily "fix." By stopping suddenly, you may create physical and emotional problems that are difficult to deal with . Again, find out what a doctor or counselor suggests.

I know what addictions are like, so I wish you the best. See a therapist to help you deal with your sleeping pill issues and your emotions at least for a month or two.
