Ok I'm getting a new dog and I'm thinking about getting a weenie dog... but I want to know if there are any other choices at affordable prices? I'm looking for a small playful dog to keep my older dog active, So I'm hoping I can find a dog that gets along well with dogs. Oh yeah and nothing to barkish/yappy or hyper.

Thanks!

  1. Weenie dogs are one of the most barking breeds and they dont get houstrained well. I think you should check a local shelter.

  2. jack russel terrier is your best bet

  3. I adopted my dog from a shelter and he is just an AMAZING dog. He was given up because the owner got a gf with another dog. The best advice I can give you is to go to meet the dogs you might be rescuing. It's pretty easy to tell there disposition right away. If the thing is bouncing off the walls it's not just excited about getting a new home. Often times if you rescue from a "breed" rescue home they ask you to come and meet the animal with your current animal to see how they interact. This will be the best way to tell what is going to work best for you. Good luck!

  4. i suggest a pug. pugs are soooo much fun. they will definitely get your older dog going. i've had a pug for about a year now and my older dog, who is a boxer and about 8 years old, has a lot of fun with him.

  5. a miniature dachshund would be a good choice because they are so small, and although they do require socialization, daily stimulation, and some exercise, not to the extent of a large dog and in my experience they are very energetic!

A dog is what you make it including barky or yappy

  6. Check your local animal shelter first before buying a dog. Take your dog along to see who he gets along with. We have a house full of cats and I think our lab was lonely. So, we  adopted a one year old Westie 2 months ago and our older dog is more active, actually losing weight and seems happier.

  7. as long as you get it from a rescue center and not a puppy mill place,

    the dog will be cheap.
