5'6 and 140 lbs. Im 16 lbs heavier starting out with this pregnancy than i was with my son. I was just wondering is it ok for me to still do crunches and other workouts on an exercise ball? Is it possible for me to lose a little % of some fat? ( i know i gotta ask my doctor, im just waiting until i get to my appointment) And also how much weight is the lowest "Safe" weight to gain during pregnancy. ( I gained 40lbs with son, and i dont want to gain that much this pregnancy. Thanks!

  1. i wouldnt gain any less then 30 lbs

  2. it's perfectly healthy to continue to do any exercise that you were already used to doing prior to being pregnant.  You just don't want to start new ones like running or kick boxing!  Don't diet, but if you were to just eat healthy and get your calories in with veggies and fruit then I don't think you would gain weight very quickly.  If 140 is overweight for you (I don't know if it is or not) then most doctors don't mind if your weight gain target is lower (around 15 to 20 pounds).

  3. Just eat healthier food. Fruits, vegetables....Just anything with lots of nutrients. You're only supposed to eat 300-400 more calories to sustain the pregnancy. Alot of women go overboard and think it's okay to eat junk food due to "cravings" but it's best to eat healthy foods. I think it's normal to expect to gain an average of 18-20 pounds during your pregnancy, so don't overwhelm if you gain that much. Excercise, but don't do it too strenuously. I've heard it's good to walk 2 miles perday.

  4. gain only15-25 lbs total weight

and dont do any abdominal excercises, only do excercise targeted to pregnant women!
