  1. There is a series of book by Trish Kuffner --

The Baby (or it may be baby's) Busy Book, The Toddler's Busy Book, etc.  I think they're great.

At around age 10 months, my son enjoyed making biscuits and cookies, but he would eat most of the dough.  (Which is why we didn't use play-doh.)

    Have fun!

  2. Finger painting, cant go wrong whith that, I'm finger painting now in art.

  3. babies are too young, but for closer to 2 years old you can do things like whipped cream with food colring and have them finger paint. This way if it gets into their mouth it won't matter. Can also use pudding for painting too. It is fun and yummy at the same time. Look for allergies first. Crayons, washable markers, simple glueing project, planting seeds in a cup, collages. Paint brushes with buckets of water for painting the sidewalks. This is fun. Sidewalk chalk. Taping up a very large piece of butcher paper on the wall or attaching it to the floor and lettting them paint or color. Children are always tempted to write on the walls so this way they can do that without making the mess.

Shakers with rice and beans- have to watch to make sure they don't put in mouth, nose, or ears-ha.

For babies we would do things like doing their footprints or handprints. Letting the older babies color with crayon with our supervision.

  4. Finger painting is a perfect idea, but think about using lots of different materials. You can finger paint in paint of course, shaving cream, pudding or put texture in the paint like sand or something interesting. You can also use brushes, sponges etc. in combination with the finger paint.

Water colors are nice and easy.

Also collages are nice. Just cover the paper with some glue and have a variety of materials that they can just throw on the paper such as tissue paper, pom poms, glitter, foam shapes etc.

  5. use construction paper

    cut out shapes'

tree, tent, flying bird, flowers, path, pond, etc

put glue on paper and encourage and help little hands

    place the shapes

  6. little too young.

  7. what?? Kids that young don't do crafts *LOL* most lack gross motor skills and none have the fine motor skills it takes to do crafts. what were you thinking of?? knitting maybe?? oh you could hot glue the babies on a picture frame..that's always cute. Babies this young are just not physically or mentally equipped to do crafts

  8. isn't craft stuff for kids that are a little older, as in 3 and up? They are only babies !

I would say felt boards with shapes to put on them, and activities involving fabric, as anything else is too dangerous - scissors, glue etc.

  9. fruit!?

  10. You're effectively doing crafts with the parents at this age, the child will have very little appreciation of what they are doing. Something simple which the parent can put together and the child can scribble on with crayons (or, if you are feeling really brave and have lots of floor coverings/coveralls/washing facilities, paint) is about as far as you can go. Paper crowns are a favourite - just make sure you have chunky crayons which are safe to be chewed :) Or any cardboard shape which can be displayed afterwards such as Easter baskets, Christmas trees etc.

For a "Christmas special" you can do the child's handprints in paint, presented nicely with their name and the date. But again, they're not really doing the craft themself, you are doing it for them.
