  1. The answer above is spot on.Most travel agents in VN will extend your visa and it will take about 5days,all hotels will require to see your passport when you check-in,so once you are settled get it extended.

  2. the airline wont even look at your visa, only your passport.. [ customs in vn will check your visa in & out bound. check your visa to to make sure its valid for 37 days most american visas are only good for 30 days.. you can get it extended at almost any travel agent in vn [ but only within 1 week of experation]..ask at any hotel in vn.2wks-1 month extention is the shortest i believe and about $24-$34 depending on who gets it for you

  3. It depends on who you get at the check in counter. I live in Ha Noi and went to the US a year ago - on a round trip ticket out of VN. When I was coming back to VN, the airline agent in the US wouldn't give me a boarding pass because I didn't have a return ticket FROM VN - the rules require you to have a round trip ticket. The fact that I lived in VN and was returning home didn't sink in - I had to talk to a supervisor before I got my boarding pass.

  4. The airline will let you go if you have the legal documentation required for entry into the country.  Even if the visa is for a shorter time than your planned stay, if it is in order, you should have no problem traveling.  It is up to you to extend your visa once you are in the country.
