  1. dont move. The only people who make money in dubai are the people who went to school there. Dont move. Starting salary for a foriegner is ALOT less than a citizen....

  2. The only way for a regular European electrican to land a good job with a good salary package is to work for an European company where a security check is requested which certain nationalies don't meet. Otherwise these kind of jobs are taking by Indians and Pakistanis who are satisfied with the third of the salary you would expect.

You have to be a specialist in your field to make some money.

Example: an American electrican working for the the UAE Army makes around Dhs 18.000  housing and transportation prvided.

    Take care.

  3. you can always tell an irish electrician,,,,,,,,he's the crispy thing hanging between 2 cables.

    sorry couldnt resist,good luck anyway.

  4. Why you wanna go dubai, try goin australia

  5. dont know ....  but i wiush you a very good luck

  6. i think it is better to visit there and find all. some contractors are need your resume before it.

but i suggest u to try another company in other country like Iran. some iranian companies need an expert man/woman like MTN Irancell.

if you need more info about working in Iran please send your resume to http://revealingpersia.com to help u

  7. You should try asking a local UAE investment council for advice to begin with. Also, ask friends/relatives who have worked there. You can also try applying to companies in the Emirates directly (Emaar, the giant property that is responsible for all those grandiose projects going on there comes to mind). However, be very careful and apply only to top-notch companies. There is a lot of exploitation of workers that goes on all over the middle-east and if you end up in trouble with your company they will s***w you very hard because they know how to play the game and you don't. All in all, best of luck to you!

  8. u should contact some of the big building firms out there like wimpey and costains, mostly electricians are poorly paid as there are many asians (not necessarily qualified) who do this work. i lived there 1988-2000 best one we had was a guy who came to fit a mirror and change cistern in cloakroom i had to go outside when i saw him, having changed the cistern with 2 inches of water on the floor standing barefoot in the water  put the wires from his drill (no plug) into the socket and drilling away happily i could not watch.  somehow he survived.  i would think that if ur working for a british company u will make decent money but u would prob have to be on a supervisory or managerial level .     cant be sure tho as its a vew years sinc ei was there and i wast involved in the building trade.  good luck
