  1. Phone the nearest Irish Embassy or Consulate and find out. Have details of your visa to hand when you phone, to save time.

  2. Not normally.  The UK and Eire have agreements in place that allow nationals of either country to enter freely - but if you aren't British I think you will need a visa for Ireland...

  3. If you are in belfast there is no border control when going into ireland.. So you could just drive down.. or get a bus.. they wont be checking for Visa's ;)

  4. there is no boarder between the north and south of ireland...no security checkpoints and you dont even realise youve crossed the boarder....so its free to travel between, as i said, you wont even realise youve crossed the boarder.

you can catch a bus from belfast to dublin, or a train.

  5. THere are no border checks so of course you can! The first answerers dont know what they are talking about!

You have to drive though. I drive through northern Ireland very often and there is definitely no border checks!

  6. There are no borders as stated by others but there are roaming customs checks and if you're stopped you'd better have a visa or you're in trouble. You could just take the chance as it's unlikely you'd be that unlucky but you never know.

I live near the border and I'm surprised the others that do didn't know about the roaming checks.

According to this the fact you have a visa for any European country you should be o.k. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_tr...

  7. some of the answers here are right, just drive down or get a bus or train to the Republic, no checks, and nobody gets asked for ID in ireland unless they are engaged in criminal behaviour

  8. hi you

no you will need a visa for the republic also sorry about that but if you get onto the Irish embassy in the uk they mite give you one or sort you out
