Im babysitting a 8 year old girl tommorow?

Question

From 9:00Am to 2:00ish. I met the Mom and her today. She seemed shy, but her Mom said it takes two days to get used to people.. she said she wakes up at around 10ish, so im jus going to be sitting there when she gets down. Thats awkward..im a shy person. How much do you think i'll be getting paid? she never told me that.

$6 or $7 an hour hopefully. play games and dolls with her

well at this age it's not necessary for you to have too much money so don't worry about that part. she'll pay you what she wants.

Kids are adorable. Usually I would babysit long hours and the kids wouldnt wake until late, so I would lay down and take a nap. That way I wouldnt fall asleep on the kids. Just make sure she doesnt get into trouble and make sure she knows you have authority. You will probably get about $5 an hour depending on where you live, and etc. Depends on the sitter and the parents as well.

I'd say between 20-30 dollars...b/c of the fact that she's older and capable of entertaining herself...and it's in the daytime...you're only there just to make sure she doesn't get into trouble or danger...

Why don't you plan an activity. Before her mother leaves in the morning ask her if it's alright if you bake cookies or make bracelets. You can bring over the supplies and set up while she's asleep. When she wakes up just be friendly.  Try to get her excited about your activity. While you are doing it ask her questions like what her favorite class in school is, what her favorite color is and things like that to make it less awkward.  Always smile and keep yourself talking. When the activity is over ask her what she wants to do. If she doesn't say anything. Ask her if she wants to watch TV or play with her dolls. Just remember one thing: no matter what it will be fine and she's only 8 so she won't even realize if you are feeling nervous or awkward.  I can't tell you what she will pay you everybody pays different. But average for 5 hours is $25. Good luck!
